Keynote

Odil Abdurakhmanov — Rector of Tashkent State Transport University

Dear friends!
I am glad to welcome the guests and organizers of the International Scientific Transport Forum.

The aim of the forum is fostering ideological exchange and promoting legislative uniformity in the field of international transport logistics. This year, its primary focus is on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway line. This ambitious project aims to link the rail networks of China and Uzbekistan via Kyrgyzstan, and then passing through Turkmenistan, Iran, and Turkey to connect with the European railway network as a component of the New Silk Road transportation system. The primary goal of the forum is to analyze the economic collaboration between the countries concerning trade, investments, and infrastructure initiatives. By 2023, the bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and China had surged to $14 billion, with projections to escalate to $20 billion in the near future. Notably, in February 2024, China’s major exports to Uzbekistan comprised automobiles valued at $42.9 million. The potential for enhanced bilateral cooperation lies within the scope of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) proposed by China. Moreover, there has been a notable rise in exports of China’s new energy vehicles and large-scale wind power equipment to Uzbekistan. The Samarkand region government has approved the purchase of 100 electric buses from the Chinese manufacturer Yutong, along with establishing the requisite infrastructure to support them. Efforts are underway to establish a China’s pilot free trade zone involving five Central Asian countries, serving as a gateway for China to expand its reach towards the West.

I am confident that the agreements reached and the projects presented will help strengthen intersectoral and interregional relations and will make it possible to increase the competitiveness of the transport industry.

I wish us all productive work. See you in the venue!

Dear participants,

It is with great pleasure and anticipation that I extend a warm welcome to all attendees of the upcoming International Scientific Transport Forum. This forum serves as a paramount gathering that unites esteemed scientists, dedicated researchers, and visionary leaders of the industry under one roof.

The essence of this forum lies in its internationality, as it transcends borders and brings together intellects from various corners of the globe. The diversity of perspectives, experiences, and expertise that will converge at this forum promises to ignite insightful discussions, foster collaborations, and pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in the realm of transport and beyond.

In 2024, the transportation sector has seen remarkable advancements and innovations that are reshaping the way we move people and goods. In addition to the technological advancements in transportation, the social implications of these innovations are also noteworthy. The shift towards electric and autonomous vehicles is not only reducing carbon emissions but also contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment, ultimately benefiting public health. Furthermore, the improved safety features in autonomous vehicles have the potential to significantly reduce road accidents and fatalities, enhancing overall road safety for passengers and pedestrians alike. The integration of smart transportation systems and AI technologies is enhancing accessibility and inclusivity, making transportation more convenient and efficient for people of all ages and abilities. These advancements are not only transforming the way we travel but also promoting sustainability, safety, and equity in our communities.

I am confident that the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and innovations that will take place during this forum will not only enrich our collective understanding but also propel us towards a more sustainable and efficient future in the field of transportation.

I look forward to witnessing the fruitful interactions, engaging presentations, and impactful outcomes that will undoubtedly emerge from this distinguished gathering.
